The association was founded in 1965 as an associated section of the Association of Pathologists of Yugoslavia at that time. Since 1971, it has functioned as the Association of Pathologists of the Republic of Macedonia, and on 28.05.2021 it was renamed into the Macedonian Association of Pathology (MAP).
